Title
North Harnett County Transit Study
Gaby Lawlor, CAMPO and Shivang Shelat, WSP
Body
The North Harnett County Transit Feasibility Study was initiated through a request by Harnett County, to explore opportunities to serve the area with transit. This study is split into two phases. The first phase included completion of an existing conditions analysis to document demographics, development, and travel patterns; coordination and engagement with the Core Technical Team and the Public Officials/Stakeholder group(s); and finally, extensive public engagement. The culmination of the work completed in the first phase will establish a vision for transit in the study area. The second phase of the study will build off feedback from the first phase and delve into development of a phased implementation plan to bring transit service to northern Harnett County.
With the public survey closing on May 27 and the conclusion of public engagement activity, the project team is in the process of documenting findings. CAMPO and WSP staff will provide a high-level overview of the results from the first phase and an overview of project activity moving into the second phase.
