Wake Transit Conference Committee Update

The Wake Transit Conference Committee was formed in 2024 in response to Significant Concerns raised by Wake County and CAMPO regarding the proportion of the Regional Vehicle Rental Tax (VRT) revenue that is included in the Wake Transit Plan and Wake Transit Work Plans. The Conference Committee met in 2024 and 2025, providing guidance to the TPAC regarding the inclusion of VRT revenue in the FY25 and FY26 Wake Transit Work Plans, and agreed to meet in 2026 to discuss a long-term solution for VRT revenue in the Wake Transit Plan. The Conference Committee is scheduled meet in February, March and May to develop a long-term solution for the VRT revenue in the Wake Transit Plan.
Staff will provide additional background on this issue in a presentation to the Executive Board.
