The Wake Transit Plan was originally adopted in November 2016, and the first update to the Wake Transit Plan was adopted in April 2021. Continuing the four-year cycle of updates to the Wake Transit Plan, the FY2024 Wake Transit Work Plan included funding to begin the next update to the Wake County Transit Plan. This update will extend the planning horizon from 2030 to 2035 and includes an update to the Community Funding Area Program Management Plan. The update is expected to take 18 months, with funding split over two fiscal years. Staff used the Wake Transit On-Call Consultant list to select Nelson/Nygaard to conduct the update, with a contract cost of $600,000.
Requested Action: Action Approve the contract and authorize the Executive Director to execute the agreement.
