Body
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) has been embarking on a study that will cover the US 401 corridor from generally US 421 in Harnett County north to Banks Road in Wake County. The study will result in a functional design of the ultimate corridor, and an implementation strategy that recommends short term, long term and policy recommendations that will lead to the successful implementation of US 401.

This update could occur as part of the next regular update or through a specific amendment for the study recommendations.
Both CAMPO staff and the US 401 Corridor Study team have conducted transportation model runs; and the US 401 Corridor Study team have performed additional analyses for presentation and review by the Executive Board and general public. The TCC recommended including the additional alternative W (401/55/210), along with the existing alternatives X and Z (as modified) for further study.
