FY 2024 3rd Quarter Wake Transit Work Plan Amendment Requests

Two (2) Wake Transit Work Plan amendment requests were submitted for consideration in the 3rd quarter of FY2024. Documentation, including more information on the nature of each request, is provided in the attachment. Per the Wake Transit Work Plan Amendment Policy, the TPAC’s Program Development (PD) Subcommittee met on December 19, 2023 to review the amendment requests, to determine the appropriateness of changes in scope and potential financial impacts. Members unanimously voted to move the two (2) requested amendments forward for TPAC consideration. The scope and financial disposition of the PD Subcommittee is also included in the attachment.
Requests determined to be appropriate for moving forward include:
1. Request from Raleigh to implement frequency improvements to the Route 21 - Caraleigh bus route.
2. Request from Raleigh to add $8.5 Million in additional contingency to the FY21 Wake Transit Work Plan allocation for the construction phase of the New Bern Avenue BRT.
The amendment requests were released for public comment from December 8, 2023 to January 5, 2024. Thirty-five (35) public comments were received in response to the amendment requests.
The TPAC met on January 17, 2024 to consider the two amendment requests, and unanimously recommended they be approved by the CAMPO and GoTriangle Governing Boards. The CAMPO TCC reviewed the requests at their meeting on February 1, 2024 and unanimously recommended the two amendment requests be approved by the Executive Board.
