Title

Wake Transit - Major Investment Study:  Bus Rapid Transit Implementation (Evaluation Framework & System Performance Standards)

Adam Howell, TPAC & CAMPO Staff

Body

The Major Investment Study (MIS), which is designed to develop, evaluate, and recommend high-capacity transit investments in the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors and the Wake-Durham Commuter Rail corridor identified in the Wake County Transit Plan, has produced two deliverables to ensure these evaluations continue moving forward.

For BRT components of the MIS, the TPAC and Wake Transit Governing Boards determined through an interim action deliverables matrix that the following documents be approved by the Wake Transit Governing Boards (CAMPO’s Executive Board & GoTriangle Board of Trustees):

Bus Rapid Transit Evaluation Framework - the evaluation framework will be applied to understand the relative performance of potential corridor alignments and configurations, and their ability to meet the community’s goals.

Bus Rapid Transit System Performance Standards Memo - the BRT design standards and performance measures are intended to establish a framework and rational for the investment in BRT services in Wake County.
