Since their last informational update to the TCC, GoTriangle staff received feedback from the Wake Transit governing boards and other regional partners on the initial results of the Greater Triangle Commuter Rail (GTCR) Phase 2 Feasibility Study and have worked to address the questions and develop alternatives to meet partner expectations.
The purpose of this report and subsequent activities is to support regional decision-making on whether and how to move forward with commuter rail in the Triangle region. The study consisted of thorough technical investigations of the factors that should be considered when evaluating the feasibility of implementing commuter rail service. GoTriangle staff will provide an update on this project’s progress as they launch the revised information out for public comment from January 5th to February 19th.
