Body
The FY 2024 Community Funding Area Program (CFAP) Call-for-Projects opened the last week of October 2022 and closed the first week of January of 2023. At that time, CAMPO received four projects from two municipal applicants: two capital projects and a planning project from the Town of Apex, and one capital project from the Town of Knightdale. On February 17, 2023, the CFAP Selection Committee convened to review the proposals. The committee recommended to the Transit Planning Advisory Committee (TPAC) that all four projects for the Recommended FY 2024 Wake Transit Work Plan. The FY Recommended 2024 Wake Transit Work plan is currently in its public review and comment period. During its April 19, 2023, meeting, the TPAC recommended approval of the Recommended FY 2024 Wake Transit Work Plan to the Wake Transit governing boards. This includes the four CFAP projects: TC002-BJ: Saunders Street & Hinton Street Pedestrian Improvements; TC002- BK: GoApex Route 1: Bus Stop Enhancements; TC002-BL: Knightdale Boulevard Corridor Pedestrian Improvements; and TC003-V: Future Transit Prioritization Study.
Since its inception, CFAP has experienced exponential growth in participation. Over the course of FY 2024, CAMPO and its partners will reconvene the CFAP Work Group to guide the update to the CFAP’s Management Plan and how to best shape program as we prepare for its seventh call-for-projects.
