CAMPO Staff Addition: Public Engagement Planner

With the passage of the new federal transportation authorization (FAST Act) the planning requirements and responsibilities of metropolitan planning organizations will continue to evolve. The MPO has a newly-adopted Public Engagement Plan and Title VI/LEP plans, and strives to conduct meaningful public outreach to the region on all plans and studies. The MPO Executive Board also stressed during the 2015 Strategic Plan Update their desire to see the MPO’s brand and work products become more prevalent in the region. In order to meet these demands, MPO staff recommends reclassifying the currently-vacant Planning Technician position into a CAMPO Public Engagement Planner position to serve on the MPO staff.
