The Managed Motorways concept is a collection of strategies and technologies that work in concert to manage freeways and provide enhanced safety, improved reliability, decreased congestion, and provide real time traveler information. Managing a freeway can restore one or more lanes of capacity at a fraction of the cost of adding additional lanes. WSP has assisted with implementation of managed motors around the world and has performed a high level screening of corridors throughout North Carolina to identify potential corridors that might benefit from the Managed Motorways concept.
