CAMPO - DCHC MPO Planning Area Agreement

Federal regulations require that Metropolitan Area Boundaries (MABs) include, at a minimum, all of the urbanized area (UZA) as defined by the Census Bureau. A small portion of the Raleigh UZA falls within the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro (DCHC) MAB. Likewise, a small portion of the Durham UZA area falls within the Capital Area MPO MAB.
In an effort to provide continuing, cooperative and comprehensive transportation planning (3C process) for these areas, both MPOs entered into an agreement in 2004. Attached to this agenda item is an updated draft agreement to ensure the continued 3C process and reflect changes that have resulted from the 2020 Census and new MPO boundaries.
Requested Action: Action Approve the draft agreement.
