FY 2024 4th Quarter Wake Transit Work Plan Amendment Request

One amendment to the fiscal year (FY) 2024 or a prior year Wake Transit Work Plan has been requested by GoTriangle for consideration by the TPAC in the 4th quarter of FY 2024. Documentation, including more information on the nature of the request, is provided in the attachment. Per the Wake Transit Work Plan Amendment Policy, the TPAC’s Program Development (PD) Subcommittee met on March 26, 2024, to review the amendment requests, to determine the appropriateness of changes in scope and potential financial impacts. Members unanimously voted to move the requested amendment forward for TPAC consideration. The scope and financial disposition of the PD Subcommittee is also included in the attachment.
The amendment request from GoTriangle is for funds to hire a consultant to complete an update to the 2019 Regional Transit Technology Plan. The cost for the update to the Plan will be split among Wake, Durham and Orange Counties, and the amendment request is a cost neutral impact to the Wake Transit Plan, as it is requesting funds from a budgeted reserve account.
The amendment request was released for public comment from March 8, 2024, to April 5, 2024. Six (6) public comments were received in response to the amendment request. All public comments were considered by staff, but no changes were recommended to the amendment request.
The TPAC met on April 17, 2024, to consider the amendment request, and unanimously recommended the request be approved by the CAMPO and GoTriangle Governing Boards. The TCC met on May 2, 2024, to consider the amendment request, and unanimously recommended the request be approved by the Executive Board.
